SHEPPARD RELEASES NEW SINGLE & VIDEO ‘DAYLIGHT’ AND CELEBRATES MAJOR STREAMING MILESTONE!
The Sheppard comeback story continues! Out today, their bold dance-pop single, Daylight, accompanied by one of their best music videos (WATCH HERE), continues a whole new era for one of Australia’s most beloved and successful musical exports with millions of record sales and well over a billion streams worldwide.
Following on from their global hit Good Time which has dominated airwaves in Australia and is still across Europe, the Brisbane-based sibling trio of George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, present their second taste of new music from their upcoming fourth studio album which is set to continue the success of its predecessor.
Says George Sheppard, "Daylight is like a shot of caffeine for your ears. It's the perfect antidote for those gloomy days when you need a pick-me-up. You can almost feel the confetti when the chorus hits. We put so much energy into this song that we're pretty sure it could power a small city. And let's be honest, who doesn't love a music video with a baby alien? It really is out of this world! We can't wait to show this song to you all and hope our fans love this little ray of sunshine as much as we do."
The incredible music video, as well as the single artwork, were brought to life by director Josh Harris from Welcome the Machines (Illy, Gang of Youths) and ARIA-nominated artist Giulia Giannini McGauran (Tones and I, Lime Cordiale) and was recently filmed in the beautiful Victorian town of Trentham.
Says Amy Sheppard “This may be the most fun we’ve ever had filming a music video. Getting to be temporary parents to this adorable baby alien and showing off some acting chops was a lot of fun! Trentham and the surrounding area were so beautiful, and although we’re proud Queenslanders, we’ve loved exploring more of Victoria for this album’s creative campaign.”
Daylight was written and recorded in Los Angeles and Brisbane by George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard, with US-based hit-makers Ryan Daly (John Legend, Khalid, DNCE) and Nolan Sipe (OneRepublic, Calum Scott, Jonas Brothers).
This week, Sheppard will also celebrate a rare milestone for an Australian act, as their 2014 global hit, Geronimo, crosses the HALF BILLION mark on Spotify alone. Altogether, they have now clocked up 1.2 billion combined streams across their catalogue, including other classics like Coming Home, Let Me Down Easy, Learning to Fly, and Die Young.
Those streaming figures demonstrate Sheppard truly are an international band, with their biggest audiences in the US, UK, Canada, Southeast Asia, and most of Europe.
