The Sheppard comeback story continues! One of Australia’s most successful pop bands returns with their most personal and introspective single to date; accompanied by a stunning music video (WATCH HERE). Dance on the Sun continues a whole new era for the now Nashville-based, three sibling outfit, with millions of record sales and well over a billion streams worldwide.

Following on from their recent global hits, Daylight and Good Time which are still dominating airwaves across Europe, the sibling trio of George, Amy and Emma Sheppard, present this Californian-inspired, almost psychedelic track as their third taste of new music from their upcoming fourth studio album, scheduled for release in 2024.

Says George Sheppard, "Dance on the Sun is a beacon of hope for those who have faced adversity and found themselves in the midst of darkness. This song serves as a reminder that even when the world feels lonely and bleak, the sun will always rise again, and with it, comes a renewed sense of euphoria, warmth and love. We put our hearts and souls into creating this track for anyone who needs reminding that bad times are only temporary and to make the most of that moment the sunlight breaks through the clouds."

The incredible music video, as well as the single artwork, were brought to life by director Josh Harris from Welcome the Machines (Illy, Gang of Youths) and ARIA-nominated artist Giulia Giannini McGauran (Tones and I, Lime Cordiale) and was recently filmed on the windswept Kilcunda Cliffs, south of Melbourne.

Sheppard have just touched down in Nashville, the city they will call home while they begin preparations for tours of both the US and Europe in the New Year and beyond.

Says Amy Sheppard, “Our biggest listenership continues to be in the US so while we remain very proud Australians, we wanted to give this the best chance we could. Touring is so much more viable when you’re based here in the States and we can’t wait to get out on the road across North America and then Europe as soon as possible!

Sheppard have just completed a run of 16 shows in September at Warner Bros Movie World, wowing the capacity crowds daily and creating a slew of new fans. The day after they completed their run, they were on a flight to Nashville.

What a way to go out”, said bassist Emma Sheppard. “It was truly remarkable being in the parade every day, then getting on stage and having such huge crowds sing our songs back to us. So many people seeing us for the first time and we couldn’t imagine a better way to say goodbye to this chapter of our Aussie career. Bigger days are ahead and we will absolutely be back soon to perform in Australia!

Dance on the Sun was written and recorded in Los Angeles and Brisbane by George Sheppard, Amy Sheppard, with US-based hit-makers The Ready Set (SEVENTEEN, The Mowgli’s) and Cameron Walker (Sabrina Carpenter, All Time Low).

Dance on the Sun is out now and is accompanied by the Official Music Video. Dance on the Sun is taken from Sheppard’s fourth studio album, due in 2024.
